We understand that the initial release of the Mi-17V5 presented some challenges, and we sincerely thank you for your patience and support as we worked diligently to resolve all reported issues.
New Features and Significant Improvements
We are pleased to announce that, in addition to fixing the identified bugs, we have introduced a series of enhancements and new functionalities that will take your Mi-17V5 flight experience to the next level:
- Enhanced 3D Cockpit Modeling: We’ve improved the 3D modeling, adding high-resolution textures and labels, as well as more precise rendering of all cockpit textures.
- New Lightweight Checklist: Incorporated into the virtual cockpit to facilitate helicopter operation.
- “Call Number” Labels: Now available on both the interior and exterior models (civilian version only).
- Black Cockpit for Military Versions: A black cockpit option has been added to enhance immersion in military versions.
- Tablet Repositioning and Animation: The cockpit tablet has been repositioned for better visibility and access.
- Improved Flight Dynamics: Adjusted to provide a smoother and more realistic flying experience.
- Hideable Side Mirrors: You can now choose to hide the side mirrors for better external visibility, configurable via the tablet.
- Armor Plate Removal: The armor plate on the pilot and co-pilot windows in the military version has been removed to improve external visibility.
- Revised Anti-Ice System: Optimized for more efficient operation.
- Improved Cockpit Lighting Effects: Enhanced cockpit lighting effects, providing a more immersive visual experience.
- Rotor Downwash Fixes: Corrected rotor downwash effect issues for superior realism.
- Improved Sound Effects: Audio enhancements include improved rotor sounds and cockpit effects for a richer auditory experience.
- Right-Click Removal for 3-Position Switches: No more need to use the right mouse button for 3-position switches, improving usability.
- High-Resolution Textures: All textures have been optimized for high resolution, ensuring superior detail.
- Force Trim System: A significant improvement in flight precision, allowing for slight friction to maintain collective and cyclic control positions.
- Autopilot System: Implemented a basic autopilot system adapted from the real thing for more stable and controlled flights.
- Main Rotor RPM Beep Control: Added to allow finer adjustment of RPMs, offering more realistic engine control.
- Joystick Mapping: You can now map the control grip, searchlight, and beep control directly to your joystick for easier access to these functions during flight.
- Nose Gear Steering: Added animation for nose gear steering using the simulator’s default functionality.
Bug Fixes
In addition to the above improvements, we have addressed all reported issues from the community:
- Sound: Fixed sound issues that arose after the last simulator update.
- Engine Parameters: Adjusted to reflect more realistic and stable behavior.
- Stability and Performance: Implemented improvements to ensure smooth performance across all hardware configurations.
- Instruments and Avionics: Corrected the functionality and accuracy of instruments and avionics systems.
- 3D Cockpit Modeling Quality: Enhanced the 3D modeling quality of critical elements.
- Other Minor Bugs: Numerous reported issues were corrected, improving the overall experience.
